Bridge the Gap for Kids focuses on closing the educational and resource gaps many children experience — especially during the summer months when school support systems pause. We bring educational tools, learning opportunities, and basic needs to children from lower-income families, helping them build confidence and stay ready for the next level of school.
Our Story
Founded by a group of high school students in Richardson, Texas, Bridge the Gap for Kids began with a simple belief: that every student deserves equal opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Seeing how some children lacked access to camps, supplies, and learning programs during the summer, these students decided to take action — and their vision has since grown into a thriving nonprofit serving kids across the Richardson ISD community.
Why It Matters
Many students rely on school not just for learning but also for nourishment. When schools close, those safety nets often disappear. Bridge the Gap for Kids helps meet these needs — offering academic support and meal programs that help children stay healthy and prepared to learn.
